Plastic Surgery, Daughters Could Base Surgery Decisions On Mothers Appearance, Liposuction.
Recently published research reveals that mothers and daughters with similar facial features will also tend to age in similar ways.
40 mother and daughter pairs with similar facial features were studied using 3D cameras and computer modeling. The research shows that mothers and daughters that look similar age in identical ways – especially the way that volume is lost in the lower eyelid and elasticity is reduced in the skin.
This information could be useful for plastic surgeons and their patients in planning the most effective cosmetic surgery based on how their face will likely age.
The study did not examine the rest of the body so it is unknown if decisions on plastic surgery such as breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck or gastric band can be informed using this method.
I think we all knew this anyway. It is not much of a revelation.
I think it is important to find out if the things we think are true actually are by doing studies such as these.
It would be interesting to see what influence the dad has.
