Ear surgery
The most common condition which people want correcting is “bat ears”. “Bat ears” refers to when the ears stick out from the head to resemble the ears of a bat. Although the condition is only cosmetic and doesn’t affect the hearing in anyway it can lead to a lot of bullying and depression and correcting the condition can lead to a lot more self confidence.
The most common way of correcting the ears is to suture the ear to the head however sometimes the operation is more complicated and involves the surgeon loosening the skin at the back of the ears and then remodelling the muscle and cartilage to improve the aesthetics of the ear.
The healing process for ear surgery is quite long as the ears are very sensitive and take a long time to heal. After the surgery you will need to be very careful with your ears for at least 2-3 weeks.
