The number of UK women over 50 seeking cosmetic surgery rose 68% over the past year, according to UK clinics.

The menopause is thought to be responsible for many of the effects of ageing, such as hair thinning, dry and sagging complexion and facial hair.

The number of female celebrities who have chosen to have plastic surgery such as liposuction, breast enlargement, tummy tuck and gastric band procedures are thought to be inspiring other women to seek both cosmetic surgery and non surgical cosmetic treatments such as injections and chemical peels.
