Gastric Band Cuts Number Of Fatal Strokes By Two Thirds?
Gastric band surgery could reduce the chance of having a fatal stroke by two thirds, according to a recent study.
Researchers in Sweden compared the number of fatal strokes in people who had a gastric band fitted with a control group who had not had a gastric band fitted. The group who had a gastric band fitted experienced two thirds of the amount of fatal strokes compared to those who had not had a gastric band fitted. Gastric band patients where also less likely to suffer from non fatal heart attacks and strokes.
