The growing acceptance of plastic surgery is thought to be due in part to the number of celebrities talking openly about the cosmetic surgery they have had, whether it be liposuction, face lift, tummy tuck or breast enlargement.
Celebrities also have a more direct influence on the plastic surgery people seek, for instance Cheryl Cole is thought to be behind an increase in people seeking the controversial procedure dimpleplasty and Kim Kardashian is thought to have inspired more people to go for butt implants.
