Gastric Band For 47 Stone Kuwaiti Man, Plastic Surgery, Tummy Tuck

A Kuwaiti surgeon has performed a gastric band operation on a 47 stone man.

People suffering from such morbid obesity can be unsafe to operate on and are normally asked to lose some weight before having a gastric band fitted.  Dr Al-Bastaki successfully performed the procedure on the dangerously overweight man, who is now gradually losing weight, giving him relief from the years of difficulty moving, breathing and sleeping.

It is unknown whether he will undertgo plastic surgery after he has lost sufficient weight.  Many people who lose massive amounts of weight can be left with loose skin that can be improved by tummy tuck, liposuction, arm, thigh and neck lift, breast enlargement and other cosmetic surgery procedures.

Gastric Band Surgery Could Save UK 4.3bn Per Year.

The UK’s rising obesity problem is costing the UK 4.3bn per year, according to a new report, and gastric band surgery could be the answer.

The National Institute of Health & Clinical Excellence (Nice)  claims that over 1 million people in the UK are suitable candidates for bariatric surgery such as a gastric band, and if just 25% of these people had one fitted it would save £150m in benefits payments alone.

Much like cosmetic surgery such as breast enlargement, liposuction & tummy tuck, many people seek gastric band procedures abroad where they can be considerably cheaper than in the UK.

Miss Venezuela Has Cosmetic Surgery,

Venezuela has produced more Miss Universe’s than any other country, and the country’s latest beauty queen says that she has had cosmetic surgery on her nose, “Yes, I had a nose job. I wasn’t sure about it first, but after the operation I was really happy with the result. Sometimes it’s good to give natural beauty a little help.”

Plastic surgery is a controversial subject in beauty pageants, with some considering it cheating and even likening it to taking performance enhancing drugs in athletic competition.

Nose surgery and breast enlargement are the most common cosmetic surgery procedures sought by beauty pageant contestants.  Breast enlargement is also one of the most popular surgical procedures among the general populace, although liposuction is reported as the most popular procedure overall worldwide, beating increasingly popular bum implants, tummy tuck, gastric band and others.
