200 Too Fat To Leave Home, For Gastric Band Surgery, Tummy Tuck or Liposuction.

At least 200 people in the UK are so obese that they are trapped in their house.

It took a team of 30 people to get 63 stone Georgia Davis out of her house and into an ambulance last week, but Georgia is not the only person in such a situation.  The NHS is aware of approximately 200 people who are unable to leave their house because of their size.

These people are too large to safely undergo surgery such as a gastric band, or plastic surgery such as tummy tuck or liposuction, because of the large amount of sedative needed.  They are also too large to be able to exercise safely, because of the strain such activity puts on their heart.
