OPERATION

POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD

Patients stay overnight in the clinic and usually stay for 2 to 3 days. The patient must rest for about a week. The bandage should be changed one week after the operation. Rest is recommended for about 14 days after the surgery and the patient may get back into a full workload after about 6 weeks of gradual recovery.

The sensation of skin pulling and altered tenderness in the affected areas are common side effects, and they will disappear in a couple of weeks.

DOG EARS

 A projection of bulging tissue called a dog ear can occur after tummy tuck surgery. If a small dog ear appears after tummy tuck surgery, it will usually disappear with time and healing. Should it remain visible a further procedure can solve this problem 6 – 9 months after the initial tummy tuck surgery.
