The initial and very important step to be taken before any decision is made is a personal consultation with an experienced and licensed plastic surgeon. A good state of health is a prerequisite, which determines the upper age limit for this procedure.

The cosmetic surgery operation removes excess skin in the neck and face and results in partial smoothing of some wrinkles. However, it should be noted that the wrinkles are caused by mimic muscles which varies with each individual, and therefore it is not possible to remove the following with surgery; permanent perpendicular wrinkles on the upper and lower lips, and forehead wrinkles.
An operation cannot stop the aging process, however, it can postpone its symptoms by several years, after which, such operation can be repeated.

POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD

Patients stay overnight in the clinic and are usually released from the clinic the next morning. Resting is recommended for 3 to 4 days following the surgery. The bandages are removed on the 4th or 5th day after the operation.

Facial or eyelid swelling are common side effects of the surgery and are best seen on the fourth or fifth day after the operation. As well, feelings of tension and sensitivity disturbances are common. These will disappear in a couple of weeks.

After the bandages are removed, hair should be washed and the healing continues without bandages, with regular fair showering once a day. We recommend wearing a scarf at night to protect the face. The next appointment, to remove the stitches, is 10 to 14 days after the surgery.
