About the Surgery

Eyelid surgery can be performed on either upper, lower or both eyelids at once. This is normally performed under local aneasthetic, but can be performed under general aneasthetic if you prefer. Before your procedure takes place, you will undergo a series of pre-op tests. During the procedure, excess skin tissue is removed in order to provide less 'saggy' appearance. Once the surgery has been completed, you will be monitored overnight.

Some swelling and bruising is to be expected after surgery. Normal activity can be resumed 2 to 4 weeks afterwards, including use of makeup. The sun should be avoided for 6 to 8 weeks after surgery, and use of suncream and sunglasses is advised whenever possible during this period.
