Breast enlargement

Breast Enlargement, by means of silicone implants or saline implants, is a very efficient cosmetic surgery, suitable for women with insufficiently developed breasts, for women whose breasts have lost their size as a result of breast feeding or significant weight loss.

Breast Enlargement and Age

The ideal age for breast enlargement surgery varies. It is generally recommended that this cosmetic surgery is undertaken after development of the mammary glands and overall physical development is completed, which is not before the age of eighteen. It is very important to consider all the reasons for breast enlargement (augmentation) and to consult all possible questions and the final decision with an experienced and qualified plastic surgeon.

Breast Enlargement and Pregnancy

The breast implants do not influence pregnancy in any way and they will not expose the foetus to any danger. Most patients are able to breast-feed normally after breast enlargement. However, there is the risk of insufficient lactation and the impossibility of breast-feeding normally. Changes to the size of the breasts occur during pregnancy, which can have a negative effect on the result of previous breast enlargement. Therefore, it is recommended that this surgery is undertaken during a period when the woman is not planning any pregnancies.

Breast Enlargement and Recovery

Breast Enlargement is performed under general anaesthesia, patients stay overnight and are usually released from the cosmetic surgery clinic the following morning after bandages have been changed and drains removed. It is recommended that patients rest for several days. They can resume routine activities after 5 to 7 days. Enlarged breasts are considered stable after elapse of one to two months. A check-up with a specialist is recommended after six months.

All our surgeons and staff consider the patient’s health and satisfaction of primary importance, each patient is approached individually and each operation is only performed after providing a detailed explanation with the patient’s consent.
